Arrive at Alula, Your guide will meet you at Alula airport and take you to the extraordinary archaeological site of Hegra. One of the most significant Nabatean cities, Scout Hegra was almost unknown in the desert sands for centuries and in 2008 became the first UNESCO site in Saudi Arabia.

There are more than a hundred monuments at the site, but the most impressive is the 72-foot tomb of Lihyan, son of Kuza, standing solitary in the desert landscape. In the Hijaz mountains, you will find the old city of Alula, situated in a desert setting and a gathering place for pilgrims, travellers, and permanent residents for hundreds of years. The old town of Alula, located in an ancient oasis, is dominated by a 10th-century citadel. It has approximately 900 brick houses, 400 shops and a maze of alleyways and squares. Then proceeded to elephant sightseeing, The elephant’s trunk and body stand out against the desert backdrop and are shaped by the weather over the centuries into the shape of a monolithic rock. Finally, at the end of your tour, you are going to be driven back to the MSC Splendida Cruise ship at Ain Sokhna Port.
